A/N: Sorry, I had to. Something twigged me on this earlier today; someone mentioned something about Fudge’s replacement and that spot in my mind said, “oh, what if?” Harry is reading the Daily Prophet with Hermione and Ron. I’m sorry, I really am.

In a surprise move yesterday, Cornelius Fudge tendered his resignation as the Minister of Magic. “Unfortunately, I have just been diagnosed with a serious medical condition…”

Ron snorted, scoffing, “Since when was incompetence considered a medical condition?”

“and, in light of the reappearance of He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, my doctors prescribed immediate retirement.”

“What’s he got, a chronic case of death?” Darkly, Hermione added, “Well, Voldemort…”

The Ministry of Magic has nominated Dolores Umbridge...

Hermione and Ron just stared as the paper burst into flames in Harry’s hands, scorching the table. Slamming his fist on the table, Harry snarled bitterly, “Those sodding bastards!”
