House: Gryffindor
Word Count: 100
Challenge: Summer Break
Rating: PG
Characters: Alice and Neville Longbottom
Author's Notes: God, do I write some angst!

The St. Mungos’ staff learned, in the past fifteen years, that Alice seemed to perk up as summer approached. This particular summer, Alice shocked them all when she called Neville by his first name.

It’s too soon to tell.

Neville returned again and again, overjoyed to see his mother’s eyes light up at his approach.

It is a good sign, yes.

Alice improved and began to carry on real conversations with her son, started her rehabilitation...

Wait and see.

Finally, Neville had to return to school. On the anniversary of the attack, Alice woke up screaming and never spoke again.
