Author's Notes: Between 5th and 6th.
Out of all the seasons, Neville was most ambivalent towards summer. One one hand, it did get him away from Snape and all the horrible things that happened in Potions. On the other, it meant that he would be spending time with his grandmother while she harangued him about magic.
This summer, as he walked into his parent’s hospital ward for the first time, he ran into Luna. She smiled dreamily at him and walked on, not saying a word. When Neville reached his parent’s bedsides, he saw the fresh roses Luna had left.
Maybe this summer would be better.
