Harry promptly rolled over to face Hermione.  Gently, eyes sympathetic, he asked, “Why did you do that, Hermione?”

Taking his actions as an invitation, Hermione walked over to sit on the edge of his bed, “I just can’t take it anymore.  All we do is hurt each other,” her lower lip trembled as one fat tear rolled down her cheek, “and I am so tired of fighting but it never ends.”

Tenderly, Harry reached over and wiped the tear away, whispering, “I wish things were different for you.”

“So do I, Harry.”  Hermione wiped away another tear, “So do I.”
