Author’s Notes: Warning, character death. The start of the theme I seem to be writing lately. Angsty as hell.

Gingerly, Ginny rubbed a hand over her swollen eyes and dragged herself out of the mud where she had fallen in the battle. Walking over to where Harry lay, Ginny gathered the tattered remains of her courage and looked at the Boy Who Lived.

The Boy Who Lived No Longer.

A comforting hand wrapped round her waist. Draco appeared in her field of vision, strangely familiar in the aftermath. "Hush, Ginny, I’ve got you."

Dimly, Ginny realized the agonized screams she heard were coming from her mouth and she collapsed into a heap, trusting Draco to take care of her.
