100 days, hot and dreary, stretched before him, looming in the horizon like a dark cloud, threatening and portentous. Sirius picked up his trunk and got aboard, leaving home for his own personal hell.

On the train, he was silent, listening to the sounds of the train clacking down the rails, taunting him. Dread built with each passing second until he caught sight of his parents, waiting impatiently.

Panicking, Sirius looked at James, “I can’t do this. I hate them.” Growling, he added, “I can’t be with them anymore”

“You don’t have to.” James replied quietly, “Come home with me.”
