At first, Sirius thought the sounds of the sea breaking against the rocks below to be a source of comfort to him in the dank dimness of his cell.

In the darkness, however, the sea, which had sounded so peaceful in the daylight, gave new meaning to the word horror. As the Dementors gathered outside his cell, the sounds of the surf faded and all Sirius could hear was Lily screaming.

It was merely the wind whipping through the rocks, he told himself, shivering as the eerie sound reverberated in his tiny cell.

But he was never convinced of that.
