"Hey, Draco," Blaise called to him from the top of the stairs, "You coming or what?"

Forcing a smile, Draco drawled, "Go ahead. I’ll catch up." Blaise walked off, leaving Draco alone for the first time in ages. Honestly, he wasn’t sure how much more of his own House he could take...

"Draco?"

Shoulders stiffening, Draco turned, ready to drive away the familiar intruder with sarcasm but sucked in a breath instead. Heartbreakingly beautiful, she met his gaze, her hair reddened by the light, her eyes darkened in shadow. Unable to look away, he asked, "What do you want?"
