Welcome to the Game2Learn website. The team, Game2Learn, is currently working on the game, StormHaven, at UNCC (University of North Carolina Charlotte). Our group is dedicated to teaching, through game play, the fundaments of the computer science program such as programming and computer construction. Currently, the introductory computer science classes teach the basics via lectures coupled with programming assignments. We intend to change that with our game. StormHaven is, therefore, being designed to ease the steep learning curve normally associated with computer science and make computer science a more approachable discipline by using a more hands-on approach and using entertainment as a means of keeping students more inclined to focus.
The project began production in the summer of 2005 under the inital project name "Game2Learn", and is being sponsered by Dr. Tiffany Barnes. The StormHaven development team is currently consists of a small team of computer science undergrads and graduate students; the team will expand over time to incorporate new students from computer science as well as varied other disciplines.
